"What does the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation mean?"

CFP stands for Certified Financial Planner®. The CFP® registered certification marks identify individuals who are dedicated to a high level of professionalism in providing financial planning advice. The CFP credentials assure you that those using them have agreed to adhere to the highest internationally recognized standards of competence and ethical practice as set out by the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC). The FPSC benefits the public and the Financial Planning profession alike by establishing and enforcing education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements for financial planners who hold the internationally recognized CFP designation. These CFP standards of competency and ethical behaviour define the Financial Planning profession in Canada.

"What is a Professional Retirement Planner (PRP)?"

The PRP designation demonstrates a specialization in retirement planning and a commitment to professional standards. It assures the public that the bearer has a high level of education and experience and a commitment to holistic retirement planning and to the Code of Ethics of the Retirement Planning Association of Canada (RPAC). The RPAC is a national organization incorporated under the laws of Canada as a non-profit professional association. It consists of provincial Chapters and is governed by a national Board of Directors composed of provincial representatives and an executive committee.

"What is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)?"

CEBS is the premier designation in total compensation, considered the standard of excellence in the industry. It is awarded by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, a nonprofit organization. In the Canada, CEBS is co-sponsored by two leading academic institutions, the International Foundation and the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia - both industry leaders in employee benefit and compensation education.
